The start of a new year can be a funny time. I find that most people are willing, for at least a day, to attempt to wear their “superhero” cape. They’ve set lots of new goals, and they have new-found energy, enthusiasm and hope that this year will be different. And, so they put on their superhero cape and start running…
The tricky part is when reality hits, and some people realize they’ve set more goals for themselves than what’s possible…for even a superhero.
Don’t misunderstand me. It’s important to set challenging goals for yourself. You should absolutely stretch yourself and grow. YES, please! BUT…when you look across the number and breadth of your goals, please be assured of one thing: Unless you’ve set realistic goals (in terms of both the quantity and achievability,) you can’t do it all.
